Soda ash - sodium carbonate Anhydrous Light
Synonyms: soda ash. Quality: pure for analysis. Formula: Na2CO3. Nr CAS: 497-19-8. EC marking: 207-838-8069-1.
Generally for sodium carbonate:
With Wikipedia: "Sodium carbonate (common names: soda, soda ash Na2CO3) - inorganic chemical compound, salt of carbonic acid and sodium. At room temperature it is a white, hygroscopic substance that melts at 852 °C and dissolves well in water. From the solution it crystallizes in the form of large colorless crystals, airborne. In nature, this compound occurs in the natural state of the so-called sodium lakes and in the ash of sea plants. It is also an important component of many minerals."
"It is used to make glass and paper. It is also used in the production of soap and washing agents. It is used for softeningwater. Moreover, it is used in gargaraging, paper industry, in chemical synthesis and in laboratories as a chemical reagent. 5-6% soda solution is used to nourish the wood surface by saponification"
Soda calcine for home use
Most users buy it to prepare their own washing powder.
- 1 part of baking soda (e.g. "Soda"). 4 spoons),
- 1 part of sodium percarbonate (e.g. 4 spoons),
- 2 parts of borax (e.g. 8 spoons),
- 1 part of vinegar (e.g. 4 spoons),
- optionally a few drops of essential oil.
The dry ingredients are mixed thoroughly in a bowl or jar, then poured over with vinegar and stirred again, possibly adding the essential oil. The soda and vinegar will foam for a while (carbon dioxide escapes), so do not turn the jar down!
With a spoon, mix well to make a white, fairly homogeneous paste (sodium percarbonate is in the form of tiny granules and will remain so). Put it into ice moulds or other small containers, place it in a warm, dry place (away from the source of fire, sodium percarbonate is VERY flammable, to be precise: it facilitates burning of flammable substances). After a few hours the tablets are ready - just "tap" them out of the mold and use them as normal tablets. "
The package contains 1 kg of soda ash.
